Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research marked the 2025 16 Days of Activism with a community volleyball match designed to \u201cspike out\u201d digital violence against women and girls. This event brought together community members, students, and local leaders to raise awareness about the growing problem of online abuse targeting women.<\/p>

Digital violence against women and girls takes many forms, including harassment, cyberstalking, non-consensual sharing of intimate images, and gendered disinformation. Women are disproportionately affected due to existing social inequalities and power imbalances, which make them more vulnerable to online attacks. The consequences of such abuse are far-reaching. It can cause severe psychological harm, restrict women\u2019s participation in public and professional life, and undermine broader efforts toward gender equality and a fair society.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

By framing the campaign around a volleyball match, the initiative used sports as a platform to engage participants in meaningful conversations about online safety, respect, and accountability.
