El estado de Kano, en el noroeste del pa\u00eds, representa el epicentro del brote, con 8.447 casos confirmados y 589 muertes. Los estados m\u00e1s afectados son Kano, Yobe, Katsina, Borno, Bauchi y Kaduna, que suman 96% de todos los casos sospechosos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A pesar de los esfuerzos de control desde el inicio del brote a finales de 2022, la enfermedad se ha extendido gradualmente a otros estados del noroeste y el noreste. Los ni\u00f1os de 1 a 14 a\u00f1os representan 72% de todos los casos confirmados. El an\u00e1lisis del estado de vacunaci\u00f3n revela que m\u00e1s de 60% de todos los casos sospechosos no han sido vacunados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Esta financiaci\u00f3n forma parte de la herramienta Epidemias de la UE, creada para proporcionar financiaci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida en caso de brote de una enfermedad. La difteria es una infecci\u00f3n bacteriana muy contagiosa que se transmite entre seres humanos. Provoca una infecci\u00f3n de las v\u00edas respiratorias superiores que puede provocar dificultades respiratorias y asfixia.
