L'\u00c9tat de Kano, dans le nord-ouest du pays, repr\u00e9sente l'\u00e9picentre de l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie avec 8 447 cas confirm\u00e9s et 589 d\u00e9c\u00e8s. Les \u00c9tats les plus touch\u00e9s sont Kano, Yobe, Katsina, Borno, Bauchi et Kaduna, qui repr\u00e9sentent collectivement 96% de tous les cas suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Malgr\u00e9 les efforts de lutte d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s depuis le d\u00e9but de l'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie fin 2022, la maladie s'est progressivement propag\u00e9e \u00e0 d'autres \u00c9tats du nord-ouest et du nord-est. Les enfants \u00e2g\u00e9s de 1 \u00e0 14 ans repr\u00e9sentent 72% de tous les cas confirm\u00e9s. L'analyse du statut vaccinal r\u00e9v\u00e8le que plus de 60% de tous les cas suspects n'ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 vaccin\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce financement fait partie de l'outil Epidemics de l'UE, cr\u00e9\u00e9 pour fournir un financement rapide en cas d'\u00e9pid\u00e9mie. La dipht\u00e9rie est une infection bact\u00e9rienne tr\u00e8s contagieuse qui se transmet entre humains. Elle provoque une infection des voies respiratoires sup\u00e9rieures, qui peut entra\u00eener des difficult\u00e9s respiratoires et la suffocation.
