A mensagem era clara:<\/p><p><strong>\"Se vires algum sinal, Checkam!\"<\/strong><br \/>Apesar de ser o <strong>9\u00ba cancro mais comum a n\u00edvel mundial<\/strong>O cancro da bexiga continua a ser amplamente desconhecido na Nig\u00e9ria. Quase todas as pessoas com quem fal\u00e1mos disseram a mesma coisa:<br \/><em>\"Conhecemos o cancro, mas nunca ouvimos falar de cancro da bexiga\".<\/em><br \/>Esta falta de sensibiliza\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 alarmante porque <strong>a dete\u00e7\u00e3o precoce salva vidas<\/strong>.<\/p><p><strong>Porque \u00e9 que a sensibiliza\u00e7\u00e3o para o cancro da bexiga \u00e9 importante<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><strong>Mais de 610.000 novos casos<\/strong> s\u00e3o diagnosticados anualmente em todo o mundo.<\/li><li><strong>1,9 milh\u00f5es de pessoas<\/strong> est\u00e3o atualmente a viver com cancro da bexiga.<\/li><li>\u00c9 o <strong>13\u00aa principal causa de morte por cancro a n\u00edvel mundial<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul><p>Na Nig\u00e9ria, a dete\u00e7\u00e3o tardia devido a <strong>conhecimento limitado e estigma<\/strong> conduz a <strong>elevadas taxas de mortalidade<\/strong>. No entanto, quando detectada precocemente, a <strong>a taxa de sobreviv\u00eancia pode ser t\u00e3o elevada como 90%<\/strong>.<\/p><p><strong>Sinais que nunca devem ser ignorados<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><strong>Sangue na urina (hemat\u00faria)<\/strong> - O sinal de aviso mais comum.<\/li><li><strong>Mic\u00e7\u00e3o frequente ou dolorosa<\/strong> - Especialmente sem infe\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/li><li><strong>Dor lombar ou p\u00e9lvica<\/strong> - Desconforto persistente.<\/li><li><strong>Urg\u00eancia sem al\u00edvio<\/strong> - Sentir necessidade de urinar sem resultado.<\/li><\/ul><p>Se voc\u00ea ou um ente querido tiver algum destes sintomas, <strong>consultar imediatamente um m\u00e9dico<\/strong>.
