A UNICEF afectou mil milh\u00f5es de d\u00f3lares para resolver o problema crescente da gravidez na adolesc\u00eancia na Nig\u00e9ria. O aumento do n\u00famero de adolescentes que se tornam m\u00e3es antes dos 18 anos levou a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o a defender uma interven\u00e7\u00e3o r\u00e1pida e alargada por parte do governo nigeriano a v\u00e1rios n\u00edveis.<\/p>\n\n

A UNICEF sublinhou o seu compromisso de investir mil milh\u00f5es de d\u00f3lares na Nig\u00e9ria nos pr\u00f3ximos cinco anos para fazer face a esta crise sanit\u00e1ria premente. Eduardo Celades, Chefe do Departamento de Sa\u00fade da UNICEF Nig\u00e9ria, apresentou uma vis\u00e3o do profundo impacto da crise de sa\u00fade que afecta a popula\u00e7\u00e3o adolescente no pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n

  • Prev\u00ea-se que uma em cada 10 raparigas na Nig\u00e9ria venha a ser m\u00e3e antes dos 18 anos, com um impacto desproporcionado nas regi\u00f5es Centro-Norte e Noroeste, onde se espera que 50% das jovens, especialmente em estados como Bauchi e Gombe, tenham um filho at\u00e9 aos 18 anos.<\/em><\/li>\n\n

    Acrescentou ainda que a crise n\u00e3o se limita \u00e0 toxicodepend\u00eancia, mas engloba quest\u00f5es como a sa\u00fade mental, a inseguran\u00e7a, a subnutri\u00e7\u00e3o e as altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas.
    A fase da adolesc\u00eancia marca um per\u00edodo crucial na passagem da inf\u00e2ncia para a idade adulta, influenciando a trajet\u00f3ria de desenvolvimento da vida individual.<\/p>\n\n

    As escolhas e estrat\u00e9gias de sa\u00fade adoptadas durante esta fase t\u00eam um impacto significativo no potencial e nas contribui\u00e7\u00f5es de cada pessoa para o desenvolvimento global da na\u00e7\u00e3o.
    Anualmente, cerca de 21 milh\u00f5es de raparigas com idades compreendidas entre os 15 e os 19 anos engravidam, com uma preval\u00eancia impressionante de gravidezes na adolesc\u00eancia observada em pa\u00edses de baixo e m\u00e9dio rendimento. Na Nig\u00e9ria, a gravidez na adolesc\u00eancia \u00e9 mais frequente entre as mulheres com um estatuto socioecon\u00f3mico mais baixo.
