CAMPUS CIRCLE

Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research are excited to launch “Campus Circle,” a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing critical health education gaps on university campuses. Campus Circle is dedicated to improving knowledge and resources related to HIV, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and sexual and gender-based violence, while also providing accessible healthcare for underprivileged students.

What is Campus Circle?

Campus Circle is a comprehensive program designed to empower students with the information and resources they need to lead healthy, informed lives. Recognizing the unique challenges that students face, especially those from underserved communities, Campus Circle aims to create a supportive environment where every student can thrive.

Key Focus Areas

A). Health Education:

  •  Providing workshops and seminars on HIV prevention and treatment.
  • Offering detailed information on sexual and reproductive health, including contraception and safe sex practices.
  • Educating students on their sexual and reproductive rights.

B). Addressing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence:

  • Creating safe spaces for discussions about sexual and gender-based violence.
  • Offering resources and support for survivors.
  • Training students and staff on how to recognize and respond to instances of violence.

C). Accessible Healthcare:

  • Ensuring that indigent students have access to essential healthcare services.
  • Providing free or low-cost medical consultations and treatments.
  • Offering mental health support and counseling services.
  •

Campus Ambassadors

At the heart of Campus Circle are our Campus Ambassadors, dedicated student leaders from each university who are passionate about health and well-being. These ambassadors will:

  • Act as liaisons between the program and the student body.
  • Organize events and activities to promote health education.
  • Provide peer support and guidance to fellow students.
  • Advocate for the health needs of their peers to university administration and local health authorities.

Why Campus Circle Matters

Campus Circle is more than just a health initiative; it’s a movement towards creating safer, healthier university environments. By addressing the gaps in health education and providing crucial resources, we are helping students to not only succeed academically but also to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
