World Tuberculosis Day

  • This event has passed.

March 24

Each year we commemorate World TB Day to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of tuberculosis (TB) and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic.

The date marks the day in 1882 when Dr. Robert Koch announced that he had discovered the bacterium that causes TB, which opened the way towards diagnosing and curing this disease (WHO).

As we approach World Tuberculosis (TB) Day on March 24th, it’s importants to reflect on our collective efforts towards combating this persistent global health challenge. TB remains one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, claiming over 4,000 lives daily. However, amidst this sobering reality, there is hope. Through equitable access to healthcare and advancements in clinical research, we can pave the way for a TB-free future.

At the Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research, we ensures that every individual, regardless of socio-economic status, has access to quality healthcare services.
