Organization

Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research is a non-profit organization with a commitment to providing equal access to healthcare for economically disadvantaged populations, especially in rural and underserved communities, regardless of background, income levels, or geographical location.

Founded on the belief that everyone deserves equitable access to quality medical services, we strive to bridge the gap in healthcare disparities. What sets us apart is our use of technology to deepen access to primary healthcare delivery.

Clinical research is at the heart of our mission. We conduct rigorous studies to understand the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products, and treatment regimens designed for human use, as well as the unique healthcare needs of diverse populations.

Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research was founded by Etubi, Joy Ojochogwu, and co-founded by Kadiri, Ugbede-Ojo Dominic, who are both deeply committed to improving healthcare access and outcomes in Nigeria, especially in the face of the significant challenges of healthcare access in Africa.

Africa faces numerous challenges in healthcare access, including inadequate infrastructure, limited healthcare professionals, and high costs of medical services. Rural and underserved communities often struggle with a lack of healthcare facilities and essential services, making equitable access a critical issue.

Our mission is to provide equitable access to healthcare services, conduct impactful clinical research, and develop innovative medical solutions that address the needs of the 1.4 billion people in Africa.
Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research is headquartered in Nigeria and operates across various regions in the country and other Africa countries, focusing on areas with limited healthcare access.

CLINICAL RESEARCH AND TRIALS

EMECR clinical research involves studying human health and disease through systematic investigation. Our aim is to develop new treatments, improve existing therapies, and gain a better understanding of various health conditions. This research includes clinical trials of new medications, evaluations of medical devices, and studies on disease prevention and management strategies.
Through rigorous and ethical research, we contribute to advancements in medical knowledge and ensure that new treatments are safe, effective, and beneficial for patients.

EMECR is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in clinical research. We ensure this by working closely with the Federal Ministry of Health and other relevant regulatory bodies to comply with both local and international ethical guidelines.
Our approach includes obtaining approvals from ethical review committees, ensuring informed consent from participants, and maintaining strict confidentiality of personal data. We also adhere to best practices in research design and implementation, focusing on the safety of participants throughout the study.
Through maintaining transparency, accountability, and rigorous oversight, we strive to conduct research that is both ethically sound and scientifically valid. This commitment helps us advance medical knowledge while respecting the rights and dignity of all participants.

Participants in clinical trials are selected based on specific criteria related to the study’s objectives. These criteria can include age, gender, medical history, and the presence of certain health conditions. The selection process ensures that the research findings are relevant and that the results can be generalized to the broader population. Participants are carefully screened to ensure their eligibility and safety throughout the study.

Clinical research aims to advance medical knowledge by studying new treatments, interventions, and therapies to improve health outcomes. It helps in developing and validating new medications, medical devices, and diagnostic tools, as well as understanding disease processes and improving existing treatments. The ultimate goal is to ensure that new health interventions are safe, effective, and beneficial for patients.

PREVENTIVE CARE

Preventive care refers to measures taken to prevent diseases or conditions before they occur. EMECR offers preventive programs that include a range of practices such as vaccinations, screenings, health education, and lifestyle changes aimed at reducing the risk of developing chronic diseases and improving health outcomes. We strive to identify and address potential health issues early on, before they become serious.

EMECR ensures the effectiveness of its preventive care programs through rigorous evaluation and monitoring. We track program outcomes, gather feedback from participants, and analyze data to assess the impact of our initiatives. Through continuously reviewing and improving our programs based on evidence and community needs, we aim to maximize the benefits of preventive care and achieve meaningful health improvements.

EMECR collaborates with a network of partners, including local healthcare providers, non-governmental organizations, and community groups, to enhance preventive care. These collaborations enable us to expand our reach, leverage additional resources, and implement comprehensive preventive measures. Working together with various stakeholders helps us to address health challenges more effectively and promote better health outcomes in the communities we serve.
