NEGLECTED TROPICAL DISEASES (NTDs)

At Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research Ltd/Gte, our NTD program is committed to addressing the significant burden of these debilitating diseases in rural and underserved communities. We deliver comprehensive care, prevention, and research initiatives to alleviate the suffering of over a billion people worldwide.

Our NTD program includes:

– Diagnosis and Treatment:
– Comprehensive diagnostic services for leprosy, lymphatic filariasis, schistosomiasis, soil-transmitted helminths, and onchocerciasis (river blindness)
– Appropriate treatments, including medication and supportive therapies
– Management and cure of NTDs through evidence-based interventions

– Community Health Education:
– Awareness campaigns in communities to inform people about NTD causes, symptoms, and prevention methods
– Emphasis on hygiene, sanitation, and vector control measures
– Promotion of healthy practices and behaviors

– Preventive Chemotherapy:
– Mass drug administration (MDA) programs to distribute preventive chemotherapy to at-risk populations
– Safe and effective medications to reduce NTD prevalence in endemic areas

– Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH):
– Improved access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities
– Construction of latrines, provision of clean drinking water, and education on handwashing practices
– Promotion of WASH initiatives in communities

– Vector Control:
– Insecticide-treated bed nets, environmental management, and safe insecticides
– Reduction of vector populations and interruption of transmission cycles
