Abstract

Community-based surveillance connects local observations with public health reporting systems. This sample publication proposes a framework for studying how community health workers recognise concerns, communicate reports and receive feedback from health authorities.

The proposed study would examine reporting pathways, training needs, communication tools and the practical constraints faced by local teams. Interviews and process mapping would be used to understand how information moves between communities and district services. The framework places particular emphasis on confidentiality, clarity of reporting responsibilities and respectful public communication. It is an illustrative research outline; it does not report an outbreak, establish surveillance performance or present verified epidemiological findings.
